We survived the Apocalypse!

And the election!

I kid.

Well, my New Year’s Resolution for last year obviously didn’t work out since I only posted twice.  This year I’m taking a whole new approach:  no resolutions.

What I mean is, I’m not making a grand declaration of something that I want to change.  No – instead I’m promising myself that I will give those items the proper attention and resolve they deserve and if it doesn’t work out then I won’t feel as though I’ve let myself down on such a huge scale.

2012 was a banner year for the company!  We added a full-time employee, Jed, who has already become a certified Wood Destroying Insect Inspector through the Virginia Pest Management Association.  Our personal family has grown, too.  We welcomed our baby girl, Rowan Marybelle, on July 5th and she is the greatest joy we’ve ever known :) .  And she definitely has Daddy all wrapped up!

New Year’s Resolutions

New Year’s resolutions are something that most people have struggled with.  It’s my personal belief that the only people who don’t have an issue with them are the people who don’t make any!  Seeing that our last post was in 2010, I believe my resolution for 2012 has created itself.

We had a wonderful 2011, bringing on a new technician, Glenn, who has such a drive to perform and deliver quality results that anyone would expect from a professional.  In addition to the regular training these guys do, Purdue University (they have one of the most respected Pest Management programs in the country) has made available several training courses online that we’ll be taking part of.  Expanding and refreshing our knowledge is just one of the ways we make sure you are getting the best service possible.

Keep in mind that the PERFECT time to start your pest control is at the end of February.  That’ll get a routine set and put down a great initial barrier in your home.  For those of you who already employ us, we sent out comment cards at the end of the year and we’d love to hear back from you!  The only way we can make things better is to know where we need to improve.  Your feedback is highly valued!

If you have any questions for us, please don’t hesitate to give us a shout:

‘Tis the Season!

Happy Holidays!

Winter is finally in full swing – it snowed yesterday!  And it mostly melted today, but it was still so beautiful.  2010 was a wonderful year for us and we’d like to thank all of our customers for helping us have another successful year.  We appreciate you so much!

We hope you have a safe and happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in 2011.

REMINDER! If you want to beat the stinkbugs, start your pest control service at the end of February and you’ll be pleasantly surprised come Fall!

Fall has fallen

The weather has started to change and although it’s still pretty hot outside, you can feel that little twinge of cold as the sun starts to set. My favorite! And I’m sure y’all are noticing lots of stink bugs. They’re trying to make their way into your house for the winter time, only to reemerge in the spring. We just sprayed the office for those little buggers – they were trying to take over!

We’ve got so many events coming up in the next couple of months. Our dog house for BARKitecture will be at the Spring Home & Garden Show this weekend (Sept 25th), the Vinton Fall Festival is October 9th (stop by our booth for free stuff!) and then we’re participating in the RRHBA Chili Cookoff on October 14th!

We hope you guys had an awesome summer and are gearing up for an even better winter! Call us if you need something :)

Hello world!

Oh my!  In the past couple of days, we’ve catapulted ourselves from the dark ages to present day.  B&C has had a fan page on Facebook for a while, but now our website is almost complete, we’ve joined the Twitterverse and now a blog!  This is all so exciting – we can’t wait to get our information out there and start helping people!  Please enjoy all of our technological advances and share them with your friends :)
